About Us
Learning, knowledge, research, insight: welcome to the world of UBC Library. We are the second-largest academic research library in Canada with over 5.4 million volumes, 5.2 million microforms, more than 808,000 maps, audio, video and graphic materials and nearly 56,000 serial subscriptions. UBC Library houses a rich and diverse collection in more than 20 branches and divisions both on and off campus. Our wide array of materials is an invaluable resource for the teaching and research community and supports every discipline taught at the University.
As UBC continues to enrich its reputation for excellence in advanced research and learning, every part of the University community relies on our Library collections, our cataloguing and reference services, and the expertise and guidance of our dedicated Library staff.
The Library Development team works to ensure that Library resources and services have the funds to grow and meet the needs of students and faculty. Current tasks include digitization projects, the refurbishment of two Library branches, and the cataloguing of some of our most prized materials, such as the Wallace B. Chung and Madeline H. Chung Collection. We invite you to make a gift to the Library and help us support research and learning for decades to come.
