Fund Description
Rare Books and Manuscript Enhancement
UBC`S Rare Books and Special Collections` (RBSC) holdings of cartographic archives and historical maps are strong in pre-1800 world/hemispheres, pre-1900 North America and the Pacific Rim. RBSC is also dedicated to enhancing knowledge of British Columbia and currently holds the largest collection of B.C. material available in any academic library. Items such as locally produced limited edition books, maps of rare voyages and early maps of British Columbia are some of UBC Library`s most precious gems. Our collections are of national and international importance and attract researchers from around the world. This fund is used to purchase books and other printed materials, and equipment such as map-filing cabinets and digitization software. It also supports the comprehensive and costly care of collection items. For more information, please visit: http://www.library.ubc.ca/spcoll/
